Bachelor of Electrical Engineering

Electrical engineering generally deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism. It covers a wide range of subfields including electronics, digital computers, power engineering, telecommunications, control systems, and signal processing. Electrical engineers give the world modern virtual reality and spanned power distribution networks across vast rural areas in developing countries.

Bachelor of Electrical Engineering exposes students to the theory and applications of electricity, electronics, information and signal processing. The program is designed around a set of core courses that provide a classical electrical engineering foundation, and a number of elective courses that allow students to specialize in areas of interest and emphasis is placed on the application of the engineering knowledge.

Pass STPM with at least CGPA 3.30 and Grade A- (CGPA 3.67) in Mathematics T;

DIPLOMA/EQUIVALENT

Obtained Diploma from Local Universities with at least CGPA 3.30 in engineering field related to the programme study applied;

Obtained at least Grade B at the SPM Level in the following subjects:

  • Physics

Have qualifications in Australian  Matriculation Programme (AUSMAT) with at least Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 85 percent with the two (2) following subject;

  • Mathematics; and
  • Physics

and

one (1) of the following subjects:

  • Chemistry
  • Biology
  • Mathematics Specialist

or

Have qualifications in International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) with at least 30 Point Score and obtained Grade 6 (Higher Level) in the following subjects;

  • Mathematics; and
  • Physics

and

Obtained at least Grade 5 (Higher Level) in International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma in one (1) of the following subject:

  • Further Mathematics;
  • Chemistry;
  • Biology;

and

Obtained at least Band 3 in MUET

or

Obtained at least Band 5.5 in IELTS

or

Obtained score at least 477 (PBT)/ 153 (CBT)/ 53 (IBT) in TOEFL.

International Applications

GCE A Levels
Grade B in Mathematics and Physics; and at least Grade B in One (1) other subjects (Further Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology)

OR

International Baccalaureate Diploma
International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum score of 30 point and grade 6 (Higher Level) in the following subjects (Mathematics; and Physics) and obtain at least grade 5 (Higher Level) in the International Baccalaureate Diploma within one (1) of the following subjects:

The Bachelor of Electrical Engineering is accredited by Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC). On 18th June 2009 the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) was accepted as the 13th signatory of the Washington Accord (WA). This means that all engineering programs accredited by EAC will be recognised as an equivalent entry qualification to practise engineering in all signatory countries under the WA including the US, Australia, Canada and Japan.
