Course Learning Outcomes:
  1. Apply the principles of quantum mechanics of charge carriers in solids.
  2. Analyse charge carriers concentration and all factors that will affect their values in intrinsic and extrinsic semiconductors.
  3. Explain the physical structure and performance characteristics of semiconductor devices.
Course Synopsis: This course provides a basis for understanding of physics, characteristics and electrical properties of semiconductor materials and devices. This course will also cover the theory of solids, the study of semiconductor in equilibrium, carrier transport phenomena and PN-junctions.
Assessment Weightage: Continuous Assessment: 40%
Final Examination: 60%
