Selected IDP projects for applying CREST's TGL Project Fund

As continuation from the Ideathon Mini The Great Lab UM organised the Department of Electrical Engineering in collaboration with Collaborative Research in Engineering, Science & Technology Center (CREST) in early semester 1 20192020, CREST has evaluated the IDP’s (Integrated Design Project) final online project demonstration and selected 3 teams from each track to be offered eligibility for applying TGL Project Fund of RM1,500 to further develop their prototype.

Rahulraj Singh Kler being selected as the IET C&A TN Malaysia Chapter FYP 2020 Winner

Congratulations to Rahulraj Singh Kler, our final year student for being selected as the winner for the IET Control & Automation Technical Network Malaysia Chapter Best FYP Award for Control & Automation concept. He will receive an award plaque and a certificate.

First Virtual Final Year Project (FYP) Presentation

The Department has successfully conducted its first virtual Final Year Project (FYP) presentation - EngeniusEE. A total of 84 participants, supervised by 29 lecturers in the department, submitted their 10-minute video presentation for this competition. Parallel Q&A sessions were held on 24 and 25 June 2020. The competition entries were grouped into four specialization categories in Electrical Engineering, namely Industrial Automation (30 students); Communication (23 students); Power and Energy (24 students); and Electronics (7 students).

Dr. Wong Wei Ru being selected as one of the 20 honourees of the MIT Technology Review Innovators Under 35 Asia Pacific 2020

Heartiest Congratulations to Dr. Wong Wei Ru for being named one of the 20 honourees of the regional MIT Technology Review Innovators Under 35 competition for Australia, Hong Kong SAR, New Zealand, Southeast Asia and Taiwan. She has developed a novel technique using light to detect dengue virus and its antibodies in clinical blood samples.

IDP/Capstone Presentation Day 2019

The third-year and final-year Bachelor of Electrical Engineering students successfully presented their Integrated Design/Capstone project to the lecturers and industry representatives.

ENGENIUS 2019

The final-year students from Electrical Engineering and Telecommunication Engineering presented their final year project (FYP) during ENGENIUS 2019.Besides lecturers from our department, students were also evaluated by academicians from other universities.
